welcome.md rendered in saraswati — a native window with the workspace tree at left, frontmatter chips for title, date, and tags up top, and a welcome page opening “hello — glad you're here.”
fig. 01 — welcome.md, kept well.

01 — the page, up close

The same welcome note in saraswati, up close — an inline Mermaid diagram reading write → render → ship, and a syntax-highlighted code block on a dark slab, rendered right in the page.

fig. 02 — a note in saraswati: a diagram and a code block, set right in place.

02 — four you'll tell a friend about

  1. slides from plain markdown.

Add marp: true and a note becomes a deck — preview beside the source, present fullscreen, export to PDF.

  2. typeset, not just rendered.

An editorial serif, accent-barred headings, code on dark slabs. Your pages are set like print, not dumped like a preview.

  3. frontmatter without the yaml.

Metadata becomes chips you edit. Fields you don't touch round-trip byte-for-byte, so diffs stay clean.

  4. writes both ways.

Rich text or raw Markdown — switch whenever; every file stays a plain .md.

And the rest of the kit: workspaces from any folder, full-text search, a live outline, inline Mermaid, and side-by-side diffs.

03 — see it work

A launch deck previewed as Marp slides in saraswati — a rendered title slide reading “markdown, properly set”, paginated 1 of 3, with the next slide below.
fig. 03 — a note as a deck: marp: true up top, present with ⌘⏎.
welcome.md in saraswati's raw view — the same welcome page as plain Markdown source in a monospace editor: frontmatter, headings, a quote, and a mermaid code fence.
fig. 04 — the same page, raw: plain Markdown, one flip away.
